From an early age Martina Grasselli has been passionate about travel and design, drawing inspiration from the many strong women in her family to create a unique artistic style. After graduating in Textile Design at NABA in Milan she moved to Paris, where she studied at Duperré Fashion School. After, she was hired by luxury fashion houses such as Christian Louboutin, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Stella McCartney.
Martina’s design combines childhood influences with contemporary femininity, mixing masculine constructions with conceptual inspirations from the art world. Within this fusion originates COLIAC, a jewellery label that bears the name of Martina’s grandmother, the family’s last descendant of French nobility.
Since 2009 the brand has pushed the boundaries of its design practice, venturing into footwear and, as of 2016, clothing and bags.
Coliac is a luxury shoe brand 100% made in Italy and created by women for women where the constant innovation and combination of masculine and feminine, the attentive research of materials and the highest know-how are what make the brand unique and appreciated all over the world.
In 2013, COLIAC launched its most iconic shoe – the Fernanda. These best-selling derby shoes are named after Martina’s mother, and combine masculine design with exquisite, hyper-feminine detailing such as metal and pearl-mounted piercing-laces.
In 2020, COLIAC continues its adventure in the design and accessories world with the creation of the new must have jewellery Coliac-POD, an earring-like accessory conceptualized to embellish your everyday airpods.
